new projector came in the mail! yay!

so i was just handed the new projector for the meetup. so that's awesome. it helps out both me and strach/neko from delivering that mountain of a projector to the meet up.  its in handy fun size also so that's awesome.

i spent a good week looking online for the right one for us. and i hope it is as good as i hope it will be. it really came down to the wire on 2 models.  both of which are from the same store so that made things easy.
in case you where curious which one i got.

Rainbow Rock Movie stuff. BBQ and projector quick blurb

just a quick blurb for you fillys and colts.

as it turns out, the first showing of the next MLP movie (Rainbow Rock) in Calgary is on Saturday, September 27, 2014. It's at the same movie theater as last time, or more specifically, the Cineplex Odeon Crowfoot Crossing Cinemas.
The showtime is listed to be 11:15AM.

id like to have another movie night , like the last movie
i am unsure if i can take "everyone" out like i did last year due to  ALL of our funding is going to the BBQ and the projector.( as well as a chunk of money from my own wallet) so if you can. please donate to make it easier on myself ( and everyone else for that matter). also if you have extra free showings or anything to make it so we can get more bodies into the theatre that be great if you could let us know that also. the more the merrier after all!

lets also hope we don't get audio failures like last time also. that was fun.

Geekmoot 4.0

Hello everyone,
I've received notice from the Geekmoot staff on their event this year.

"We are an Event/Small convention started in 2011.
Our Convention is geared to every type of geek we can imagine.
We have a lot of Board games, card games, table top events.
We had about 50 cosplayers last year.
First year we had about 50 guests attend and Last year we broke 350. This year we are aiming towards having 400-600 attendees based on previous numbers, increase in space and popularity."

They will be at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Hall again this year, on July 26th from Noon till Midnight.

Vendors and Artists will be in the central room this year as the gymnasium will be used by another group until 12:45, so make sure you come by and support our groups' artists, as a percentage of the funds will be going to our annual barbecue.

They will also be holding card tournaments, so those of you who enjoy MtG and other card games should definitely show up.

I think that's all I have to say right now on the matter! I hope all of you find time to drop by on the Saturday.
